Try this flavorful purée as a nice change from mashed cauliflower or steamed broccoli.
Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the broccoli, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and transfer to food processor or blender.
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and sauté until butter and garlic are golden brown, about 2 minutes. Stir in the cream and water; transfer to a food processor with the broccoli and purée. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot topped with shredded cheese.
